Saint Solitude's Journal of Retreat CD Release Show

Posted by Rafi on 17th February, 2010

Saint SolitudeDespite threats of a punishing winter storm, near freezing temperatures and plenty of precipitation, the Saint Solitude Journal of Retreat CD release show came off with an enthusiastic turn out of fans and an energetic debut from the new three piece line up.  Dup Crosson led the boys in a set of faithful renditions from the new album.  Drummer C Scott pounded out the rhythms furiously and bassist Eddie kept a cool and rock solid backing.  We're excited to watch the fellas as they continue to mine the songs as a group.

Plenty of positive press accompanied the roll out.  Some of the highlights from the Mountain Express show recommendation and album review included:

Saint Solitude’s warm beats, hooky melodies and Crosson’s dusky tenor create an atmosphere of dreamy anticipation.

The sort of shimmery, emotive rock associated with commercial darlings Band of Horses, Rilo Kiley and Arcade Fire.

Music fans who love the pulse-racing, feel-good cinematic rush of indie pop will find a kindred spirit in Saint Solitude.

A nice bonus of the evening was Darien's opening set.  She played several songs from the new Theorem EP and a few new songs she's beginning to demo for the follow up full length.  Darien held the audience captive with her stunning voice and engaging stage banter.Alive and Well Records Recording Artist Darien
