Alive and Well Records is an independent, recently formed record label, operating in Asheville and Durham, North Carolina. We’re interested in emerging artists in the Southeast region. Our goal is to partner with these artists to help them reach as wide an audience as possible. Our artists are writing and recording their own material and are dedicated to honing their craft and building their fan base from the ground up. We believe demand for original music comes from word of mouth and through the hard work of artists making great albums and playing exciting shows. 

Our background is as musicians playing in bands, writing music, recording and pounding the pavement for gigs. We did this for years while trying to promote ourselves at the same time and found it to be an exhausting and limiting endeavor, always wishing we had someone in our corner.  

Over the last several years we’ve operated a recording studio and gotten involved in producing and recording other artists. This experience has given us the good fortune to come across several exciting artists. We found ourselves continually wishing to be involved with these artists after the recording was wrapped up. We believed in them and wanted to put our experience to good use in helping them succeed once the hard work of getting heard began. 

We’ve watched the pendulum swing from artists wanting to “get signed” to DIY, and now back to an interest in partnering with labels. The key we believe is the partnership.  We’ve set out to truly partner with our artists for a creative and mutually beneficial relationship, to create a label from the point of view of the artist, the kind that we would have wanted.
